Dr. Lovasz (She/Her/They/Them) is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and one of just a few Canadian DBT-Linehan Board of Certification™ Certified Clinicians.
Dr. Lovasz received their PhD in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University and has focused most of her training on developing expertise in the treatment of clients with emotional dysregulation and related difficulties. Dr. Lovasz was trained by various DBT experts including Dr. Marsha Linehan, creator of DBT, and some of her post-doctoral fellows.
Dr. Lovasz has provided DBT in private practice, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, and community mental health clinics and since 2012 has established and led several private DBT programs in Ontario. They have experience as a clinician and researcher with extensive training and expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Their research on DBT and other clinical topics has been presented at international conferences and published in scientific journals.
Dr. Lovasz is passionate about providing comprehensive, adherent, and effective treatment to clients with multiple and complex mental health needs. They have extensive experience working with Borderline Personality Disorder, eating disorders, trauma, impulsive and compulsive behaviors, self-harm and suicidal behaviour, and mood and anxiety disorders.
Dr. Lovasz embraces clients' worldviews, religious beliefs, sexual orientations and practices, gender identities and relationship models and has extensive experience working with clients who identify as 2SLGBTQ+. In their free time, Dr. Lovasz loves to be outdoors with their rescue dog, enjoys cooking and baking and live music shows.
